dont u hate it when u have a romantic dream about someone who u never thought about in a romantic way and then u wake up and have some weird crush on them like wtf subconscious why u gotta do this to me
Even though the story’s main focus tends to lie between Rin and Haruka’s character growth, Makoto has proven to be a critical character in the first season, and his fear of the ocean showed a very unique side to a character who is usually well composed. I have no doubt that Kyoani will definitely illustrate a lot more development with all the characters, but I do wonder how much focus they are going to give to Makoto’s character development.
I think a lot of people are speculating about what Haruka and Rin goals will be for the future and how Yamazaki Sosuke’s addition into the story will affect each of the characters, and that’s great and precisely what Kyoani’s intentions are. However, I do personally think a lot about what Makoto intends to do for the future, which I believe is something that Kyoani does not mention much, and they don’t do it intentionally. The concept that Rin and Haruka both have somewhat of a grasp of their future, even if Haruka is still in the process of figuring it out for himself, and that we have speculations for what their future might be headed towards sets up a great frame for another question:
What are Tachibana Makoto’s plans for the future?
My speculation is that he doesn’t know, and that fact itself will propose a conflict that needs to be resolved in order for him to grow along with the rest of the third years. Listen to these points:
this is the latest i’ve stayed up in months. the arby’s across the street just turned all of its lights off. when you’re up later than arby’s that’s when you know its time for bed.
