I can’t see media coverage of billionaires launching themselves into space just for funsies without thinking about how horrible, how just… pure evil, you would have to be to think that you, personally, deserve to do whatever the fuck you want and have useless ultrabillionaire hobbies, no matter how stupid and wasteful, while people literally suffer and die from an ongoing pandemic and can’t afford healthcare, while children go hungry, while homelessness is on the rise and climate change is actively causing raging wildfires and floods and storms that are destroying people’s homes… If you can look at all of that and then look at your literal cartoonish pile of gold and think “I’m going to take myself to space”??? Fuck you

you’ll find an extensive map that’ll answer this question for you, and from there you’ll be able to figure out how to help, because just because your history landed you here doesn’t mean you can’t help us. there’s an estimated 30,000 children in makeshift graves that we have yet to fully recover killed in reform schools. our people are dying of diseases caused by horrific living conditions. we’re set up for failure from the day we’re born by the active genocide against us. countless women and children are missing and murdered to this day. if we can stand to bear this unfathomable horrifying information every day, then you certainly can stand to spread the word and spare some money when you’re able. especially if you’re living on our land.

This school, The Marieval Indian Residential School, operated from 1899 to 1997.
It was one of the last residential schools to close in Canada. One of more than 130.
In case you didn’t know, residential schools were created to “cleanse” the people of Canada. These schools operated from 1831, when the Mohawk Institute Residential School opened, to 1996, when residential schools were finally outlawed.
I am not Indigenous. I cannot pretend to know how painful this may be. But what I can do is speak out. This inhumane treatment of citizens of Canada must be condemned.
The government of Canada, and The Catholic Church, must. make. reparations.
